Your Role

The Marketing, Digital and Customer Care (MDCC) team is responsible for partnering with our MDCC business areas to roadmap, select, design, build and maintain solutions to ensure we meet our operational and strategic goals. The consultant-level Application Developer will report to the IT Application Services Lead.


In this role, you will be part of the Agent Experience Product Team that is accountable for delivering the team's desired business outcomes as prioritized in the product backlog. You will develop and manage the technology components of the product to meet business requirements while also providing insights and innovations to improve utilization, reduce technical debt and reduce total cost of ownership of the product's technology ecosystem. As a consultant-level Developer, you will be a key leader within the product team, providing technical leadership to other members of the team while also fostering an engaging team experience that aligns with our Great Place to Work® objectives.

Your Work

In this role, you will:

  • Design and develop user interfaces, application programs using the technical specifications and design documents
  • Recommend improvements to the SDLC and other departmental processes
  • Improve the reliability and utilization of systems and applications
  • Monitor software configuration changes to anticipate and address the impact of data reliability and customer satisfaction issues
  • Coordinate sustaining support for 1-2 application platforms or business processes
  • Own the technical development, implementation, documentation, and maintenance support of IVR/ VRU Application and Web Services and other Agent Experience Product applications/tools.
  • Creates use cases and technical design documents based on Business Requirements, including design artifacts such as UML class and sequence diagrams and database ERD diagrams
  • Monitor Agent Experience application systems and performance metrics to support a culture of continuous improvement and service maturity


Your Knowledge and Experience

  • Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Requires at least 7 years of prior relevant experience
  • Be able to synthesize complex data/information, and lead complex technical implementations on plan
  • Experience working within an Agile software development methodology
  • Experience in a large, complex organization or corporate structure environment required
  • IVR/VRU, Java, VoiceXML, VXML, Web Services
  • Core J2EE development of at least 5 years
  • Experience with SOAP and REST, Spring Framework, Hibernate
  • Avaya interaction center (CTI), nuance ASR v10 (IVR), Avaya AAEP experience preferred
