Together, we can help people build stronger communities - we're just getting started.**Summary:** Downpour interactive is looking for an experienced leader in game development with excellent communication skills and a strong artistic eye. As Art Director, you will be setting the vision and direction for the studio's title, Onward. Your role will involve supporting and leading the team, pushing the visual bar and ensuring assets are consistent and of the highest quality. You will have a proven track record within the games industry, experience in leading a creative team and a passion for VR gaming.**Required Skills:** 1. Mentor and direct artists of different disciplines in creating new game projects2. Lead the creative process from concept art to final product3. Strong understanding of conceptual, visualization and prototyping skills4. Collaborate with production, design, and programming to help identify and implement ideas and features for the project's vision5. Foster a positive and cohesive working environment6. Help guide and support both junior and experienced artists while also participating in the hiring process7. Review artwork regularly and provide constructive feedback while ensuring expectations are of high quality and meet the technical requirements of both mobile and PC VR technology8. Share and implement best practices through mentoring to deliver high quality art throughout the project**Minimum Qualifications:** 9. At least 10 years of relevant experience on multiple shipped titles, with 4+ years being experience as a Senior Artist, Lead Artist or Art Team Leader10. Communication skills with a proven track record of supervising and managing creative teams11. Experience in several mainstream 2D/3D packages such as 3Ds Max, Maya, Photoshop, Zbrush, Substance Suite etc. and well versed in creating and optimizing art pipelines12. Well versed in creating and optimizing art pipelines with an understanding of Physically-based Rendering and modern art techniques13. Understanding of UI, Visual effects, 3D Modelling, Character art and Animation. Skilled in traditional artistic disciplines14. Knowledge about game development and VR technology15. Aware of current technological demands and awareness of future technological trends16.
