We are seeking a proactive Building Automation Systems Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will monitor and track critical infrastructure maintenance and repair for our Data Center, ensuring all service lines adhere to pre-defined service level agreements (SLAs). You will manage incidents affecting Data Center services, driving timely resolutions while conducting assessments to determine site suitability for data center builds. As an engineering representative, you will provide valuable insights to align projects with company expectations and mentor team members as a subject matter expert.

Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and support systems including BMS, EPMS, PLC, SCADA, HMI, and OT networks that control mission-critical infrastructure.

  • Investigate and resolve control faults, alarm issues, graphics problems, and communications failures impacting operations.

  • Support design reviews, commissioning, and operational acceptance for automation systems related to new developments, retrofits, and upgrades.

  • Review, validate, and enhance control logic, sequences of operation, and overall system documentation.

  • Collaborate with site operations and facilities teams to address automation-related challenges affecting uptime and operational response.

  • Implement OT cybersecurity practices to ensure secure and compliant automation environments.

  • Coordinate with vendors and construction teams to ensure quality execution and readiness.

  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for control programs, network diagrams, and configurations.

  • Engage in root cause analysis (RCA), corrective actions, and initiatives focused on reliability and performance improvement.

  • Develop repeatable processes and standards to enhance site automation support.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • 3-5 years’ experience in building automation, controls engineering, or mission-critical facility controls.

  • Hands-on experience with BMS, EPMS, PLC, SCADA, and industrial networking.

  • Solid understanding of mechanical and electrical systems and their automation support.

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields preferred; relevant experience also considered.

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong diagnostic ability across automation systems and communication infrastructures.

  • Independent and effective in time-sensitive operational environments.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for conveying technical information.

  • Good judgment balancing urgency with reliability and procedures.

  • Attention to detail with rigorous documentation practices.

Preferred Skills / Certifications

  • Familiarity with automation platforms like Rockwell, Siemens, or Johnson Controls.

  • Knowledge of PLC programming tools, industrial firewalls, and OT security practices.

  • Experience with commissioning, alarm rationalization, and trend analysis.

  • Certifications in controls, automation, or SCADA systems are considerable advantages.

  • Competence in scripting or data analysis is a plus.

Physical Demands / Work Environment

This role is critical to our operations, supporting a 24/7 environment where continuous uptime is essential. You must be able to walk, stand, climb stairs, and move within active environments, occasionally lifting up to 25 pounds. Compensation and Benefits
