Job Description

Typical duties include but are not limited to:

  • Oversee and manage Worker's Compensation adjusters to include technical training and professional development
  • Conduct file reviews to ensure claims are handled within our handling guidelines
  • Manage the assignments to staff, and manage and resolve staffing issues
  • Develop staff with coaching, training and providing feedback.
  • Provide thorough and accurate reports to meet internal and external customer expectations.
  • Compliance with work process and service guidelines and State, Federal (SOX) and Tokio Marine requirements.
  • Provide technical expertise and training to internal/external employees, clients, customers, agents, etc
  • Participate with Claims and other departments project teams to analyze and develop work processes and products and make recommendations.
  • Work with AVP and Claims Manager to establish budget, department objectives and other projects as requested.

Qualifications / Experience:

  • 4 year College Degree or equivalent work experience
  • 5-6 years of Workers' Compensation claims handling experience
  • 1-2 years serving in a formal supervisory role with input into hiring and compensation decisions, managing workflow and resources allocation and conducting performance evaluations.
  • Basic proficiency in common office applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks

Additional Qualifications Preferred:

  • Active Independent Adjuster's License or Limited WC Adjuster's License

Special Circumstances:

  • Periodic overtime may be required
