Data Science Leadership Role

Maximus is on the lookout for a Data Science Leadership Role to enhance decision-making through data insights within the Indiana Eligibility Control Center. Since 2007, Maximus has been at the forefront of supporting the Indiana Health Coverage Programs (IHCP) as the state's enrollment broker. In this vital role, we assist eligible Indiana residents in understanding their health coverage options while providing expert guidance on selecting managed care health plans. We prioritize unbiased, member-focused support to ensure individuals receive clear and accurate information, enabling them to make informed choices that suit their healthcare needs.

This is a remote position, allowing for flexibility in your work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead a high-performing team focused on Data Science, Reporting, and Business Analysis, offering vision, guidance, and mentorship.
• Analyze and evaluate data to enhance operational processes and quality.
• Support special projects, trend analyses, and problem-solving initiatives, aiding operational teams in identifying areas for process improvement, efficiency, and error reduction.
• Develop a vision for the productization of data science artifacts, offering Data Science as a Service.
• Collaborate with reporting and business analysts to translate diverse datasets into compelling narratives for business partners and senior leadership.
• Manage and create reporting, ensuring swift and accurate delivery to stakeholders.
• Align team objectives with organizational and project goals to drive success.
• Utilize various tools to collect, arrange, and inspect data for report generation.
• Serve as the primary link between operational teams and client stakeholders, fostering cross-functional alignment and enhancing transparency.
• Analyze and interpret data to uncover actionable opportunities for improvement.
• Identify and employ appropriate decision technology techniques within relevant analytic frameworks.
• Establish and maintain a consistent reporting structure, providing regular data and analysis to key stakeholders.
• Conduct research and analysis to develop strategies aimed at optimizing business operations and services, enhancing efficiency and productivity.
• Oversee performance management for Business Analysts, setting priorities and scheduling according to business needs.
• Conduct data discovery, analysis, modeling, and problem-solving to support operational needs, including root cause analysis and process improvement planning.
• Assist with project management by collaborating closely with managers to meet operational demands.
• Prepare and maintain progress reports and documentation while updating databases as necessary.
• Ensure that reporting structures are maintained, delivering reports accurately and punctually. Track and communicate trends, error rates, or additional business requests from operational leaders.
• Oversee the provisioning and de-provisioning processes in collaboration with operations to ensure readiness for new hires.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
• 5-7 years of relevant professional experience.
• Demonstrated leadership skills with formal training or prior experience.
• Proficiency in SQL, Python, and R programming languages.
• Experience with cloud-based DBMS such as Snowflake, Amazon RDS (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL), MongoDB, etc.
• Expertise in managing big data, including structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data.
• Knowledge of machine learning, especially in the domain of natural language processing (NLP).

Salary: $120,000 - $135,000
