Overview:Industry leading Robotics and Automation equipment manufacturer and solutions provider has immediate need of Mechanical / Electrical Technicians Position Summary:Build the complete turnkey electrical portion of project which includes panel building, machine wiring, redlining schematics, electrical checks, and troubleshooting as needed. A successful candidate will be able to read, understand and update schematics and have experience wiring machines. The efforts will contribute to the completion of the electrical hardware requirements for the project and they will support the controls engineers in successful power-up and system debug.Duties and Responsibilities:Electrical panel build and wireway routing per Electrical schematics and DrawingsRedlining Electrical schematic drawing and ensuring changes are communicated as necessary.Electrical Assembly of the equipment according to approved design and customer specifications.Support the Controls Engineers as needed during power-up, I/O checks, system debug, and machine validation.Communicate with the project team on open issues and progress during the build process.Maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned work area.Effectively and safely:Troubleshoot wiring and circuitsWire according to NECRead and understand schematicsAssuming accountability of assigned responsibilitiesHelp supervisor estimate effort for assigned tasks and keep supervisor informed of effort status in relation to the original estimateInteract with Electrical Designers and CAD DraftersMinimum Education & Experience: High school diploma, or equivalent certificate.Prior vocational training/certification desired but not a requirement.At least 4 years of electrical experience required.Journeyman's card in a related field is preferred.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:Basic understanding of controls programs for automated equipment and interface hardwareSpecialized training in wiring code and safety standardsMust have knowledge ofElectrical Schematic interpretationPanel BuildingMachining WiringBasic computer skills (i.E., Excel, M.S. Word, M.S. Project, Windows) preferredProven mechanical aptitude with a focus on safety and quality.Proven ability to accept direction and complete tasks as assigned while working as part of a team or individually.Must follow company quality and ISO proceduresPhysical Effort:While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, sit and use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, or crouch.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus and distinguish color.Environmental Conditions:While performing the duties of this job, the employee infrequently works in outside weather conditions, frequently works near moving mechanical parts and in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually low in the office area, and moderate in the assembly area.
