As part of the Security team, your role will focus on identifying, managing, and mitigating risks associated with our products to ensure the safety of customer funds and data. As a Program Manager on the Security Programs team, you will collaborate with the wider Security organization to create impactful business and security outcomes through complex cross-functional programs while empowering engineering and product teams to take ownership of security risks. The Security Programs team acts as a vital link for strategic initiatives within the Security team and across the organization, working to drive effective security outcomes. We provide a holistic view of cross-functional projects and help leaders prioritize resources for the most impactful initiatives that mitigate risk. Our diverse team consists of Project Managers, Program Managers, and Technical Program Managers dedicated to reinforcing Coinbase's trusted brand through security-driven initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with program sponsors and cross-functional Security partners to identify and assess opportunities, challenges, and risks across various Security domains using qualitative and quantitative metrics.
Act as the Directly Responsible Individual (DRI) for key security initiatives, taking ownership of outcomes and facilitating decision-making processes.
Develop program strategies and documentation, including proposals, prioritization frameworks, roadmaps, and risk registers, aimed at progressively enhancing program maturity.
Partner with Product, Engineering, and Security teams to encourage the adoption of vital initiatives, navigate technical dependencies, and support the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) for new product features.
Manage multiple critical projects end-to-end, establishing milestones and timelines while ensuring accountability for quality deliverables and communicating the effects of project delays on security risk.
Provide status updates to Security leadership, ensuring transparency in key metrics, program effectiveness, strategic direction, and any changes.
Conduct regular data analysis on security control performance to identify trends and improvement areas, utilizing BI tools to make data-driven decisions.
Drive process improvements within security programs by employing AI tools, automation, and retrospectives to streamline workflows and enhance efficiency.
Craft Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) to align teams on crucial short- and long-term goals, managing change across complex multi-quarter programs.
Quickly identify and escalate risks to facilitate proactive collaboration and resolution.
Qualifications:
A Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field.
5+ years of experience as a program manager or in a related role.
5+ years of experience in security, risk management, compliance, information systems, or similar domains.
Solid grasp and experience with formal program management methodologies.
Basic knowledge and experience in cybersecurity and security domains.
Fluency in using AI tools to enhance daily workflows and improve processes.
Excellent time management, facilitation, communication, and organization skills.
Ability to simplify complex concepts for varied audiences.
Experience managing cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Comfort in navigating ambiguity and adapting in evolving environments.
Preferred Qualifications:
Professional certifications such as PMP, CISSP, and CISA.
Familiarity with the technology or fintech industry.
Experience with all three lines of defense (3LOD).
Advanced understanding of Generative AI and tools like Google Workspace, JIRA, Linear, Superset, Looker, and SQL.

Pay Transparency Notice: Depending on your work location, the target annual base salary for this position ranges from $167,280 to $196,800 USD. Total compensation may include equity, bonuses, and a benefits package (including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k)).
