In this role, you will provide technical leadership and strategic direction across our U.S. data center portfolio. Your deep architectural expertise will blend with client-facing leadership, influencing design strategy and delivery excellence. You'll be an essential part of our mission to shape the future of data center architecture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Leadership: Act as a senior architectural authority, guiding design quality and consistency, and advancing our architectural standards for mission-critical facilities.
  • Strategic Client Engagement: Represent Jacobs' design expertise, collaborating with business development and delivery teams to secure and shape high-value data center programs.
  • Mentorship: Play a critical role in developing our architectural talent by mentoring architects, contributing to thought leadership, and supporting Jacobs' professional presence.
  • Program Support: Balance strategy with hands-on involvement by supporting design reviews, quality assurance, and construction administration across multiple projects.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture.
  • 20+ years of experience in architectural design, including 15+ years in mission-critical or data center environments.
  • Licensed Architect (RA) with strong knowledge of building codes, accessibility standards, and sustainability frameworks.
  • Expertise in site planning, building envelope systems, modular construction, and BIM coordination.
  • Proven track record of applying technical innovation to resolve complex client challenges.
  • Exceptional communication, leadership, and multi-tasking skills.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with hyperscale, colocation, or enterprise data center projects.
  • Familiarity with LEED, WELL, or other sustainability certifications.
  • Knowledge of high-security and high-resiliency facility design.
  • Experience in vendor coordination and technical support during construction phases.

Work Environment:

  • This role is primarily office-based, with travel to project sites and client locations as needed (up to 25%).
  • Occasional on-call support for critical design or client engagements.

At Jacobs, we not only design facilities—we build impactful careers. Join us in delivering the infrastructure that quietly powers the future of technology.
