The Senior Graphic Designer, Packaging is responsible for the design, creation, and release of packaging graphics and product labeling materials. This position will collaborate with marketing, industrial design, human factors, and engineering teams to create useful attractive graphic solutions while expediting product release schedules. There will need to be an awareness of brand identity and a sensitivity to design guidelines and consistency across hundreds of different packaging and labeling documents. This person will also work with multiple outside packaging vendors helping to deliver effective time-sensitive solutions.
Duties & Responsibilities: Develop concepts for all packaging labeling including box graphics, on-product graphics (labels, laser etching, silkscreen, pad print), and all sensor disposable pouch packaging Work in Label Automation system to collaborate and expedite approvals on the packaging and label graphics Manage and maintain graphic files and database Manage label printers and external packaging vendors Work with internal clients to generate project parameters and approvals for release Ability to produce high-quality technical illustrations (vector files) from photos Maintain color management system - master color chip file Utilize a wide range of media, including photography as needed Performs other duties or special projects as assigned
Minimum & Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
Minimum Qualifications: Experience managing/creating graphic design deliverables in a regulated industry 4 to 8 years as a practicing Graphic Designer Demonstrated expertise in the following Adobe Suite products: Illustrator, Photoshop, and In Design Experience as a production artist delivering complex, high-quality files for vendor/production use Digital portfolio of relevant work required before interview scheduling
Preferred Qualifications: Five years of relevant prior experience Three or more years experience managing/creating graphic design deliverables in the medical industry Must demonstrate expert-level capabilities in the use of Adobe Illustrator, and be proficient in Adobe Photoshop Some expertise/experience using Adobe In-Design and any CAD system Experience in packaging or working on product-related graphics in medical or other regulated industry Some experience working with 3D CAD files Experience as a production artist delivering complex, high-quality files for vendor/production use Experience managing a large archive of production and concept artwork Ability to produce high-quality packaging renderings
A.A. degree in Graphic Design is required. B.S. degree in Graphic Design is preferred.
Physical Requirements/Work Environment
This position primarily works in an office environment. It requires frequent sitting, standing, and walking. Daily use of a computer and other computing and digital devices is required. May stand for extended periods when facilitating meetings or walking in the facilities. Some local travel is necessary, so the ability to operate a motor vehicle and maintain a valid Driver's license is required.
