Job Description

Job Description

Join our team as a Senior Reliability Engineering Specialist, where you will spearhead initiatives aimed at assessing and enhancing reliability across electrical, mechanical, and controls systems. Your insights will directly influence our ability to maintain mission-critical infrastructure.

You will be responsible for reviewing facility acceptance and commissioning to ensure that systems are delivered in a state that promotes reliability, supportability, and maintainability. Your expertise will help you design effective maintenance strategies that boost uptime, simplify maintenance processes, and optimize lifecycle performance.

As a key player, you will lead thorough root cause analyses and develop corrective actions for significant reliability issues. You will analyze asset utilization, maintenance histories, performance trends, and failure patterns, leveraging data to drive meaningful improvements.

In this role, you'll also develop risk mitigation strategies for operational vulnerabilities, latent failures, obsolescence, and supportability gaps. Provide senior-level technical support during critical failures, abnormal events, and high-stakes troubleshooting sessions.

By offering your reliability and maintainability feedback on new and modified systems, you will influence design, construction, and turnover decisions. Additionally, you will contribute to the development of best practices for lifecycle planning, spare parts analysis, RAM analysis, and site response procedures. As a mentor, you'll help cultivate the skills of less experienced reliability engineers, thereby elevating the technical capabilities within our function.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess 6-10 years of experience in critical facilities, reliability engineering, commissioning, or maintenance engineering environments where uptime is critical. You should have extensive knowledge of mission-critical electrical, mechanical, and controls systems and their operational interactions.

Experience leading root cause analyses, improving maintenance strategies, and providing essential technical support in live facility environments is crucial. A Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field is preferred, though equivalent industry experience will also be considered.

Preferred Skills / Certifications

  • Experience with commissioning reviews, reliability analytics, lifecycle cost analysis, or maintenance strategy design.
  • Familiarity with BMS/EPMS/controls data, asset health modeling, or fleet reliability practices.
  • Advanced knowledge of operations in critical environments or design is a plus.
  • CMRP, CRE, or a related reliability certification are advantageous.

Responsibilities

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong technical judgment and systems thinking.
  • Exceptional data analysis and structured problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in influencing cross-functional teams without formal authority.
  • Effective communication skills with both technical and operational stakeholders.
  • Adept at translating operational challenges into scalable reliability improvements.

Physical Demands / Work Environment

This role supports mission-critical data center environments and may require regular travel to active sites, turnover events, and operational reviews. Candidates must be able to walk sites, climb stairs, and work safely in industrial conditions, with or without reasonable accommodation. Expected travel is between 25% to 50% based on specialty and business needs.
