Overview of Software Engineering at Cardinal Health

Our Software Engineering team is responsible for managing and enhancing the enterprise's commercial technology portfolio. We focus on maximizing business value and delivering a superior customer experience through strategic management, innovative solutions, and collaborative relationships with business leaders.

The Software Engineering team develops robust design options, process improvements, and back-end solutions tailored to the needs of our commercial technologies. Serving as key contributors to engineering projects, we partner with product managers to define objectives, optimize product systems, and identify opportunities for improvement.

This is a senior-level position within our Specialty Solutions technology team, particularly emphasizing Specialty Networks GPO programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and maintain features within a .NET MVC application, supporting GPO member practices.

  • Develop logic for rebate calculators, contract performance metrics, and efficient data-driven workflows.

  • Build and manage SQL Server stored procedures, queries, and data models to enhance application performance.

  • Optimize Telerik reports utilized by physician practices and internal teams for tracking purchasing and contract compliance.

  • Oversee CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes leveraging Azure DevOps.

  • Monitor application performance, resolve production issues, and conduct root-cause analysis.

  • Engage with product managers, analysts, and business stakeholders to refine requirements and verify financial logic accuracy.

  • Contribute to architectural decisions as well as cloud optimization and modernization strategies.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 4-8 years of professional experience in software development is preferred.

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience is preferred.

Anticipated salary range: $94,900 - $135,600.
