Media content is one of key growth drivers for LinkedIn, and the media infrastructure team is at the center of that pillar. We have this unique opportunity to build meaningful media experience across Feed, Profiles, Ads, Messenger, Learning and many other products. RoleWe are looking for a seasoned engineer with passion for media products. You will be responsible for leading the media teams' technical direction and roadmap across all media types. ResponsibilitiesLeading the definition and implementation of media processing pipeline, improve end-to-end video/Image QoE on lossy network in real-time communication scenario. Leading the optimization and improvement in video/Image codec efficiency, pre/post-processing and error resilience. Identifying various opportunities to optimize in video codec, pipeline, error resilience for both low-end and high-end networks and devices. Basic QualificationsBA/BS Degree or higher in Computer Science or related technical discipline, or related practical experience5+ years of experience with H. /AVC, H. /HEVC, VP8/VP9 video codec standards. Experience with at least one of the mainstream video algorithms (OpenH264/x264/x265/libvpx). Experience collaborating cross-functionally between groups with different video technologies and pipelines8+ years of experience in software design, development, and algorithm related solutions. 5+ years of experience working in a Unix environmentPreferred QualificationsDesigning and building infrastructure and web services at an internet scale.
